Jenny Craig’s Diet – What Will I Eat?

Jenny Craig is a diet that you do by going into an office and getting the full meal deal, and you pay for that. The program that Jenny Craig offers for weight loss is to have your consultant ask some questions and then put you on a specific calorie plan. Having a consultant help get you started can really start you off on the right foot.

The keystone to the Jenny Craig diet is its prepackaged meals. For the most part, these are frozen breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and even desserts. Nutritionally, they reflect the 2005 federal guidelines and USDA food pyramid.

At the first level, the program teaches clients how to eat the foods they want — in small, frequent portions. At the second level, the program teaches clients how to increase their energy levels via simple activity. At the third level, the program teaches clients how to build more balance into their lives in order to maintain weight loss and healthy diet.

While these meals are what come to mind when most people think of Jenny Craig, they are not the be-all and end-all of the program. In fact, says Lisa Waltman, call center manager for Jenny Direct, the goal is eventually to wean clients from the prepared meals. For a certain period of time, this program support people with prepackaged menu that serves as a model of healthy eating,

Jenny Craig diet is higher in protein and lower in fats and carbohydrates and low in fat as is very popular these days. The food is pretty good for vegetables which of course are low in calories but high in water and nutrients. The meal plan with Jenny Craig calls for eating five or six times a day which is great but the numerous small meals are a very hard adjustment for every people who want to try it. The foods itself look delicious and apparently taste quite good although there are a few foods many people don’t want to eat. However, for people who are on this diet, you have to eat all the menus served for you by the jenny Craig program.

No food is taboo though. The focus is on moderation, a balanced diet, and getting enough exercise. But built into the program are occasional splurges that allow dieters to indulge themselves a little.

That being said, the Jenny Craig method is calorie based. The menus a client develops with his or her counselor are based on an individual’s weight, height, and goals.

If you need a structured program to get you going on a diet, Jenny Craig’s diet has helped a lot of people.
